WXC mixes it up with "Dangerous"

Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting (WXC) threw everyone for a loop with its last fight card and the action that the fighters provided. Saturday July 23rd WXC hosted Dangerous at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Taylor, MI. Due to various different events in the area Jeff Pitock and his promotional team managed to draw in 326 spectators. Now you may be thinking to yourself that that’s a low record for WXC.

We caught up with Jeff Pitock, President of WXC, at the show’s first Intermission and asked what his thoughts on the show were. He replied, “Tonight was a challenge for the WXC Team, with the show running smoother than it ever has, which is a plus, but the lack of local talent hindered our attendance, I believe. But hey, I’m proud of myself and our team. We only had 4 local fighters on the whole card and the rest were from other locations, such as Canada, Ohio, Indiana and Northern Michigan. Having 300 fans on such a bad night and having no local talent, we did a pretty decent job. I know for a fact that all promoters in Michigan are not even hitting over 400 fans per show lately. But still, the first 5 fights turned out to be some bangers!”

Jamey Dushane, WXC’s new matchmaker, provided fight fans with a very interesting night of fights. 10 bouts with 7 guys dropping off on the day of the fights doesn’t make for an easy going night, but the match-ups were pretty darn even; some records were a tad off but every fighter came ready to fight and provide fans with a show. I asked Jamey Dushane what his thoughts were on his first fight card as WXC’s new Matchmaker and he replied, “Tough! WXC has had over 30 events and I expected to have it a bit easier than I did. I feel that the fighters are taking some time to see how WXC’s stability is with the removal of the prior Matchmaker and testing to see how I perform, so I really have to gain their trust. I hope the changes that Jeff Pitock and I are making will change some views of WXC and rebuild that partnership that WXC had with many of the fighters and fight teams. I plan to get their trust; I’m a respectful, straight forward guy and what I say is what I do.”

WXC may look to some as they have taken steps back, but I see the next season of new talent knocking at the door for WXC as many of WXC’s prior talent steps into the professional paths of their respected careers. The new batch is getting ready for their stardom within the mega promotional skills of Jeff Pitock and Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting team.
